Richard L. “Rich” Sanderson, Passed away Thursday, June 24th at the age of 91.
He was predeceased by Pat, his beloved wife of 62 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three daughters, Cheryl (the late Steve) Pool, Diane (Stephen Martin) and Nancy (Tim) Miller. He is also survived by his son Richard. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jessica Sanderson, Tim (Shawna) Miller, Sean (Erin) Miller, Rich Miller and Stephanie (Leo Davis) Pool and great grandchildren, Shane Ford, Luke and Claire Miller and Lakeson Davis. He will be deeply missed by his cousin and best bud, Mary Porter.
Rich was a lifelong Pittsburgher and former Marine. 
After his service, he attended the University of Pittsburgh. His career began as a teacher at Shaler High School, moving on to US Steel and then to his own PR business. Rich was a storyteller and writer who wrote newspaper columns and books.
He was a long time member of Elfinwild United Presbyterian Church and the Marine Corps League. Always positive and with a great sense of humor, Rich touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held at Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral service will be held at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church, Glenshaw, on Tuesday 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, (al.org) or Gateway Hospice, 9380 McKnight Road Ste 201, Pgh, PA 15237.
